Valor Mortis PC system requirements
Steam lists full minimum and recommended PC specifications as of 14 October 2026. Both need 16 GB RAM and 60 GB available SSD space. Both listed frame-rate targets use upscaling.
Official minimum and recommended specifications
The following table transcribes the current Steam appdetails requirements for the released game, app 2828710.
| Component | Minimum | Recommended |
|---|---|---|
| Operating system | Windows 10/11 | Windows 10/11 |

| Memory | 16 GB RAM | 16 GB RAM |
| Graphics | AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT / NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti | AMD Radeon RX 6800 / NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 |
| DirectX | Version 12 | Version 12 |
| Available storage | 60 GB; SSD required | 60 GB; SSD required |
| Listed target | 30 FPS at 1080p Low, with upscaling | 60 FPS at 1440p Medium, with upscaling |
What these performance targets mean
The listed resolution and FPS are publisher targets attached to hardware tiers. Because the notes explicitly say with upscaling, they are not promises of native-resolution rendering. The recommended tier is Medium, not Ultra; it does not establish a 4K or ray-tracing benchmark.
CPU load, driver state and graphical settings can affect a particular machine. A laptop GPU with a similar name is not automatically equivalent to the listed desktop model. No specific upscaler mode, VRAM requirement, exact frame-generation setting or guaranteed stutter fix is provided by these fields.
60 GB storage is not the download size
Steam says 60 GB available space and explicitly requires an SSD. It does not give a compressed download size in the requirements. Installation, client updates and temporary patch operations can have different storage demands; use the actual client prompt when installing.
An HDD does not meet the listed SSD condition. No official PS5 or Xbox installation size was verified in this check, so the PC number should not be copied into a console-size claim. See platform-specific installation steps.
Retail specifications, old demos and handhelds
The current API is the specification source, even if an older demo article says something different or a wiki still says the CPU and GPU are unknown. Demo app 4641840 now returns no public appdetails data; that does not supply a second current specification table.
Steam marks native Windows support only. Proton performance and a Steam Deck compatibility badge are separate questions, covered on the PC and Deck page. June demo hotfixes and reported handheld power settings are not retail performance measurements.
Before buying for a particular PC
- Compare the actual CPU and GPU with the listed tier rather than checking only RAM.
- Confirm Windows 10/11, DirectX 12 and SSD capacity.
- Choose a realistic target: minimum means Low/30 FPS; recommended means Medium/60 FPS, both with upscaling.
- Use a recent technical review of a matching configuration if stable frame times are essential to your purchase.
