Valor Mortis Ending: Finale, Entity and Open Questions

How do you reach the ending?
Reported. PowerPyx Chapter 11: Reflection sends William with Lucjan to the cave, then through the stone door beyond Caverns > Ancient Lair for Entity, Voice of the Void. Its retail trophy guide associates defeating Entity with In His Own Image.
Confirmed. Steam exposes that achievement name but hides its public unlock description. The boss condition is therefore Reported, not decoded from the title.
What happens after Entity falls?
Reported. TPoseGaming's October 14 account describes William removing and crushing the defeated Entity's glowing core. All Things How's final-boss report describes the same action, followed by a montage including a guillotine, ships and a large army marching through snow with enormous siege machinery. The latter links Esoterickk's recorded defeat at 04:54; both are secondary descriptions, not independent verification of the footage here.
Reported. TPoseGaming says control returns after a conversation with Lucjan. That establishes a reported post-fight scene and playable return, not William's eventual fate.
Inference. The marching army makes the victory look provisional. A guillotine image alone does not establish who was executed, and the final army's commander is not identified as a confirmed character here.
Is Entity William, and does William become Napoleon?
Reported. TPoseGaming describes Entity copying William's appearance and fighting abilities, then reverting after defeat. It distinguishes that imitation from William himself.
Confirmed. The official story announcement establishes William Dowsett as the resurrected soldier, Napoleon as the voice directing him, The Shrike as the resistance leader, James Stewart as a fellow soldier and Lucjan as the lamplighter.
Neither the achievement title nor these source descriptions proves that William becomes Napoleon. Entity's ultimate origin, William's long-term fate and the plague's complete causal history remain unresolved in the verified material used here.
How many endings are there?
Reported. TPoseGaming reports one ending regardless of dialogue options. That is a launch account, not an official branch specification or this site's exhaustive choice test.
There is no supported two-ending decision tree in this evidence. Do not follow unsourced advice to choose a faction or keep a manual save to unlock a second finale. No secret-ending requirement is verified here.
Can you keep playing, and is New Game+ available?
Reported. PowerPyx's retail roadmap reports a return near the final lantern and access to earlier regions for cleanup. The temporary Chapter 10 prison and failed quest conditions have exceptions; see the walkthrough warnings.
Confirmed. The October 9 official roadmap schedules New Game+ for later in 2026. It is not a launch ending reward. Check patch announcements for subsequent availability.
